Patna,(BiharTimes): Mrinal Kanti Das, a 1977-batch IPS officer of Manipur-Tripura cadre, took over as the 15th director general of police, Manipur, on Saturday evening after the retirement of Joy Kumar from the post. 
Das, originally from Bihar, was ADGP (Home Guard and Prison), Government of Manipur.
He will retire on November 30, 2013.
