Fund nod for parallel roads in four bordering districts


Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday approved Rs 393.09 crore for the construction of parallel roads in four bordering districts of the state. These roads would be constructed under the NABARD loan scheme in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Kishanganj and East Champaran. 

The construction of altogether 58 small and medium size bridges are also included in the project mainly to security purposes.

It also sanctioned Rs 46.28 crore to construct a two-lane RCC bridge over Bagmati river near Sonmankhi ghat in Khagaria. 

The road construction department proposal to construct 11 road overbridges also got the cabinet nod with Rs 796.96 crore (state share) sanctioned for the purpose. A sum of Rs 66.17 lakh was sanctioned for the Khuda Bakhsh Library under the plan head.

The cabinet also gives a nod to a revenue and land reforms department proposal to transfer 24.957 acres of government land free of cost to the urban development department for the construction of water treatment plant in Digha diara of Patna district.

It also approved a sum of Rs 34.94 crore revised proposal of the science and technology department for building government polytechnic in Madhubani.
