Flat-owners along Ganga’s bank neck deep in turbulent water

Patna,(BiharTime): Those who were carried away by the construction boom in Patna and invested their hard-earned money in buying apartments along the bank of river Ganga are now ruing their lot.

Never in the living memory–– even during the 1975 flood––citizens of low-lying areas of Patna were as scared as now. The heavy downpour on Tuesday morning further aggravated the situation not only in colonies and localities along Ganga, but even in large part of posh Patliputra Colony. Water entered Sahyog Hospital and several other nursing homes as well as compound of schools on Monday itself forcing some of the managements to declare the institutions close.

Those who have shifted to their newly constructed flats––or are in the process of doing so––along the southern bank of river Ganga are now asking the builders how strong the foundation of their respective apartments are?

Though the builders are assuring them that flood water is not going to have any impact on them the new buyers are panicky.
