Assets worth about Rs seven crores recovered after raids


Patna,(BiharTimes): In yet another raids against engineers the Economic Offences Unit of Bihar Police on Wednesday recovered cash and property worth over Rs 6.84 crore from the offices and homes of three engineers of the public health and engineering department (PHED).
According to Additional director-general of police (headquarters) Ravinder Kumar cases of disproportionate assets were lodged against officials at the EOU police station in Patna. He said separate teams searched the office and residential premises of executive engineers Sanjay Kumar Singh and Pranvesh Singh and assistant engineer Arvind Kumar. The raids were conduced at 12 places
in the state.
He said teams of EOU searched the office and residential premises of Sanjay at Vijay Nagar and Arya Samaj Road in the state capital, Lal Bangla Bose Bagan at Dehri-on-Sone (Rohtas) and Samastipur district.
Movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 3.09 crore were recovered. Posted at Samastipur he had bought two flats at Shail Regency on Arya Samaj Road and Indrapuram in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Both the flats are registered in the name of his wife. He owns a three-storeyed house worth an estimated Rs 70 lakh at Vijay Nagar and has a house in the name of his father at Bose Bagan in Dehri.
Sanjay also has Rs 56.63 lakh in bank deposits and ornaments worth Rs three lakh.
The EOU team found disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.57 crore from the offices and homes of Pranvesh Singh in Begusarai, Muzaffarpur and Patna.
Pranvesh, who is posted at Begusarai, has been accused of amassing movable and immovable property worth Rs 1.61 crore and Rs 29.31 lakh,respectively.

He has bought plots in the name of his wife, son and daughter in Muzaffarpur, apart from a flat purchased for Rs 29.5 lakh at Vishakha Apartment at Vednagar in Patna.
The deed is in the name of his wife. The raid team also found documents related to a three-storeyed house worth Rs 60 lakh at Krishna Toli in Muzaffarpur and gold and silver ornaments valued at Rs
18 lakh.While the search at the office and the residential premises of Arvind Kumar led to the seizure of disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.15 crore. He has two houses each at  Chanakya Nagar, Kumhrar, and MitraMandal Colony in Patna.
Besides, 21 registered deeds of 4.98 acres of land in the name of his relatives were recovered. He also has Rs 23.19 lakh as bank deposits and jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh.
