Nitish denies Bihar farmers are being prevented from going to Gujarat

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday denied that his government had stopped farmers of the state from attending an international programme of farmers organized by the Gujarat government.

Addressing the mediapersons after the Janata Darbar he dismissed the allegation levelled by the BJP leaders that farmers from Bihar are being prevented from travelling to Gujarat.

“There is no need for passport for going to any other place in the country. It is fundamental right to move to any place. Kissi Ko rook nahin ja sakta hai. (No one can be stopped from going,” he said.

Commenting on the notice to former BJP ministers to vacate their houses he said that the ministers can stay till they wish and there is no need to make it an issue.

On special status he said that it is now upto the Centre to take decision.

On Third or Federal Front he said that no such decision has yet been taken. Any such decision in this regard would be taken at an opportune moment.

The chief minister’s comment on the visit to Gujarat by the farmers came after reported complaint made by Nalanda farmers that they are being prevented by the officials from going to Gujarat. The chief minister had paid a two-day visit to Nalanda on Sep 7 and 8, where he addressed public meetings in Biharsharif, Rajgir, Islampur etc and announced that soon 150 more blocks would be created in the state.
