Nitish unveils Sardar Patel’s statue in his home turf

Patna,(BiharTimes): When so much politics is going around Sardar Patel’s statue in Bihar and Gujarat Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday unveiled a life-size statue of the first home minister of India in Biharsharif and paid homage to him.


Speaking on the occasion at Sardar Patel College ground he said Patel was a self-made man and a great personality.

He said Patel came from farming background and had a great organisational quality which impressed even Mahatama Gandhi.

He granted Rs one crore for the administrative building and additional class rooms of the college. He said that the state government has already granted Rs 45 lakh for the science block of the college.

Later the chief minister reviewed several developmental and beautification projects in Rajgir.

The statue politics has acquired significance as the Gujarat chief minister is planning to build a big iron statue of Sardar Patel in his home state.

After the split of NDA on June 16 last the BJP organized a big public meeting in Biharsharif as a part of the state wide campaign against the Nitish government.

The Bihar chief minister chose the Saturday function to hit back at the saffron party.
