Power supply disrupted at CM’s function

Patna,(BiharTimes): Power supply was disrupted at Ravindra Bhawan during the function of chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday. It was not the normal power cut, but was caused by the striking powermen, who were protesting against Friday’s lathicharge.

The organizers had to press into service the generators to keep the power supply intact throughout the function.

Chief minister, however, refused to comment on the agitation.

Meanwhile, the state government replaced the managing director of Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited on Saturday. Sanjay Singh, former Patna district magistrate has been made new MD in place of Sanjay Agrawal, whom the employees accused of being abusing and misbehaving with them.
The employees also sought the judicial probe into the Friday incident.

The employees, mostly women, also gheroed Chairman-cum- Managing Director, Sandeep Poundrik, at gate number of Vidyut Bhawan.

The employees also alleged that the BMP personnel brutally assaulted them as their power supply has been snapped for last about three weeks because of electricity dues.
