Opposition flays govt delay in declaring state drought-hit

Patna,(BiharTimes): The opposition parties have strongly criticized what they called the belated move of the state government to declare 33 out of 38 districts drought hit.
The former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said that he had made the demand more than a month back. It is a belated move, which is not going to have any positive impact on the farmers.
His party colleague and leader of opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, said that the announcement had been made 45 days late and much damage had been done to the crops.
“Last time we took the decision of drought much earlier,” he told the media while referring to the days when they too were in the government.
Modi and other BJP leaders have repeatedly been stating that after their exit the governance has collapsed and that the chief minister is holding too many portfolios, and thus is unable to do justice.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad also said that the decision has been taken so late that it would be difficult to save the crop and cattle.
The leader of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, Upendra Kushwaha, also flayed the state government for taking the decision on drought so late.
