Man offers pind-daan for Delhi rape victim, Sarabjeet, plans to do for many non-Hindus too

Patna,(BiharTimes): Seventy-year old Suresh Narayan of Gaya on Thursday performed pind-daan on the bank of river Falgu for the salvation of the souls of Dec 16 New Delhi gang-raped victim and Sarabjeet Singh, who died in a prison in Pakistan. And in the next few days be plans to offer for many more souls, some of them non-Hindus.

He performed the ritual on Thursday, the opening day of the fortnight long Pitrapaksh Mela (fair).
Suresh has made it his life’s mission to bring deliverance to the soul of whosoever he believes cannot manage on his/her own.

Reports from Gaya said he has been doing this for the past 12 years for people he has never met or seen, such as, martyrs, victims of natural disaster and violence as well as noted personalities, who died since the conclusion of the last Pitrapaksh Mela.

On this year’s pind-daan he said this was necessary as under the Hindus belief, the souls of those having untimely or violent deaths are left with tortured souls.

He also plans to offer pind-daan for Hemraj Singh and Sudhakar Singh, killed by Pakistani Soldiers in January, sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, victims of the Uttarakhand floods and Hyderabad serial blasts and children who died after taking mid-day meal in a Saran school.

Incidentally, the list includes, ghazal singer Shamshad Begum, a Muslim, victims of Hurricane Sandy and Boston Marathon blasts in the US, as well as, those who died in the earthquakes of Iran, Pakistan and China.

On September 28 he plans to offer pind-daan for the victims of the riots in Muzaffarnagar.
