Fake stamp racket worth Rs 100 crore busted in Patna


Patna,(BiharTimes): Fake revenue stamps worth over Rs 100 crore were recovered in simultaneous raids carried out at several places by the Patna Police in the last two days.
The raids, said to be the biggest in recent years, were led by the SSP, Manu Maharaj, who claimed that more efforts would be made to unearth this big inter-state racket, which include some white collared people. So far 16 people have been arrested.
In fact the raids started on Monday night, but the police made the disclosure on Wednesday morning.
Fake currency notes making machines, printing press as well as currency notes have also been recovered.
Raids were carried out in Kadam Kuan, Rama Krishna Nagar, Patrakar Nagar and Bahadurpur localities.
The SSP said that details are awaited but it is a big network and more raids are being carried.
