Patna,(BiharTimes): Three officials of the Vijaypur block of Gopalganj district were hurt when workers and supporters of CPI-ML ransacked the office of the Block Development Officer (BDO) on Tuesday.
The CPI-ML had organized a sit-in to protest against alleged irregularities in the Public Distribution System (PDS) and black marketing of foodgrains in the villages under Vijaypur block.
But officials said that suddenly the crowd became restive and started pelting stone and later ransacked the office of the BDO, Dinesh Prasad.
The BDO himself, the Officer In-Charge of Vijaypur police station, J P Mandal and the Circle Officer (CO) Munna Singh sustained injuries.
Later the police resorted to baton charge to disperse the mob.
The District Magistrate Krishna Mohan and the Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinod Kumar Chaudhury reached the block office.
