Patna facing acute power shortage

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): The state capital, Patna, has been facing acute power shortage for the last couple of days following the snag in Digha grid station after damages to the cable through which it receives power.

Power supply in the western parts of Patna was disrupted on Sunday afternoon forcing the people to spent sleepless night. It took more than 20 hours for the power supply to be fully restored.

Pataliputra, Nehru Nagar Colony, Digha, Kurji, Rajiv Nagar, North Shri Krishna Puri, Boring Road, East Boring Canal Road, West Boring Canal Road, Buddha Colony, Anandpuri, Indrapuri, Shivpuri and Rajapul were the worst hit areas.

Once again the electricity supply was greatly affected in other parts of the state capital on Tuesday morning. It was restored in the evening.

According to reports one line of the double-circuit cable of Digha grid got damaged in December last year due to the construction work on Bailey Road. An imported kit was required for its repair. It arrived on Monday last.

In the meantime, the other line of the double circuit cable was damaged late on Sunday due to some construction work near the canal on Bailey Road.
