Cong withdraws candidates from two Assembly seats in favour of RJD
Patna,(BiharTimes): In a move to put up a united front the Congress on Wednesday announced that it was withdrawing its candidates from Khocha Dhaman and Baisi Assembly seats where by-poll will be held along with three other constituencies. Now it would be supporting the RJD candidates in these two constituencies.
Announcing this to the Press the party’s media incharge, Prem Chand Mishra, said since both Assembly segments were part of Kishanganj parliamentary seat being contested by sitting Congress MP Asrarul Haque, the party did not want any confusion to prevail vis-a-vis the alliance with the RJD for the Lok Sabha elections.
However, the Congress would contest from Sahibpur Kamal and Chiraiya constituencies.
On Maharajganj Assembly seat, Congress was considering whether to contest the seat or leave I for the RJD.
