Advani speaks at Banka a day ahead of NaMo’s Bhagalpur rally

Patna,(BiharTimes): A day ahead of Narendra Modi’s election rally in Bhagalpur the Bharatiya Janata Party patriarch, Lal Krishna Advani on Monday addressed a small election meeting of a few thousands at Barahat block under the Banka parliamentary seat. He was here to seek votes for the BJP’s candidate and the sitting MP, Putul Kumari, widow of late Janata Dal (United) leader, Digvijay Singh.

He came down heavily on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for betraying the BJP after he was being elevated to the present status. He recalled how he invited Nitish to the Mumbai national executive of the BJP in November 1995 and how the then Samata Party, the earlier version of Janata Dal (United) joined the National Democratic Alliance.

At the same time he thanked Rashtriya Janata Dal chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav, for arresting him and thus helping the BJP reach the top.

He satirically said that instead of thanking the people for rallying so strongly behind the BJP he needs to thank prime minister Manmohan Singh, who has scripted his own downfall by proving as the weakest prime minister of the country.

Though he appealed to the voters to strengthen Narendra Modi’s hands and make him the Prime Minster for a stronger India political observers were surprised over the way Advani was sent to address such a meeting in a small block just ahead of NaMo’s big public meeting in Bhagalpur.
