PU VC compares IAS officers to clerks, lauds IIT’s selection process

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Y C Simhadri, on Thursday compared the IAS officers to clerks.

Addressing the students of the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT-P) on the foundation day function he said IITs are a brand and IITians are considered valuable human resources across the world.

Simhadri lauded the selection process of IIT and said that it was better suited to pick up best students of the lot.

Instead, he said, he did not consider IAS examinations to be great. Candidates who fail it thrice in a row somehow manage to crack it in their fourth attempt to become IAS officers. They then go on to function as clerks in government offices.

The VC also compared Civil Services exams to any other undergraduate exams held by colleges.
