Media misunderstood his statement on CM candidate: Manjhi

Patna,(BiharTimes): Stating that he would not have become the chief minister of Bihar if his party, Janata Dal (United), had not lost Lok Sabha election Jitan Ram Manjhi said on Saturday that the media misunderstood his statement on the chief ministerial candidate after the next year Assembly election.
He said in Gaya on Saturday that he had announced Nitish Kumar’s name for the post of CM in his personal capacity and that the leaders of the three alliance partners, the JD(U), RJD and Congress, would take a final decision in this regard later.
Commenting on the recent political developments which led to his becoming the chief minister he said whatever had happened is good and the same would happen in future.
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview to Hindustan Times, which appeared on Saturday, the chief minister said that he would not run away if he is once again entrusted with the responsibility of the chief minister.
“I never nourished any ambition. I just wanted to become an MLA, so I quit my central government job. I never aspired or lobbied for becoming a minister or chief minister, but I became a minister and then the chief minister. In future, if the situation so warranted and if I am offered I will not turn down the post of chief minister. I am not the one to run away from taking responsibilities. But I would neither demand nor lobby for it,” he told the daily.
