CM blames PMC for the hellish condition in Patna

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as the Patna high court on Wednesday summoned the chief secretary Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, squarely held the Patna Municipal Corporation responsible for the waterlogging in the state capital, including his own official residence.

He said that the PMC had failed and the state government is weighing the possibility of adopting an alternative measure to fight the annual meance of waterlogging. He even hinted at curtailing the power of PMC. The chief minister was commenting on the court summon to the chief secretary. He said the state government had sanctioned Rs 27 crore for the purchase of pumping machine, but no headway had been made in this direction.

He said work in the PMC had greatly been affected because of the infighting and internal tussle.

Meanwhile, the chief secretary, Anjani Kumar Singh, on Wednesday assured the high court that water would be pumped out from all over the state capital by Friday.

The state government has already sought the army’s help to fight waterlogging. An army unit is likely to start work by Wednesday evening.

On the other hand, the Kumhrar BJP MLA, Arun Kumar Sinha, with some of his supporters staged demonstration against the state government blaming it for the hellish condition of the people of the state captial. They raised the slogans: “Nitish, Manjhi Hai Hai, Nitish Manjhi Murdababad.”
