Cabinet approves Rs 130.33 crore for purchase of foodgrains for BPL families

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): The state cabinet on Tuesday approved a sum of Rs 130.33 crore for the purchase of foodgrains on the basis of the revised survey of Below Poverty Lines (BPL) families conducted by the state rural development department and urban development department. 

As per the survey, the number of BPL families in Bihar is 1.37 crore. However, the Centre allocates foodgrains quota to 65.23 lakh BPL families on the basis of Planning Commission survey.

The cabinet also okayed the payment of Rs five lakh as compensation to each central paramilitary forces personnel killed in either Maoist attack or other clashes. It would be applicable also to those who are from outside the state, but were killed in Bihar.
