Manjhi govt does not have mandate to demand special status for Bihar: SuMo

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said on Friday that the Centre is not likely to consider the demand of special status category to Bihar as chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi lacks the people’s mandate.
In a statement he said the Manjhi-led government does not have the mandate of its own nor it has any control over the instruments of governance to legitimately seek special status from the Centre.
He said the demand can not be considered till the next Assembly election, which is due in 2015.
Sushil Modi held the former chief minister Nitish Kumar solely responsible for Bihar not getting special status He said the demand of special status would have been met by now had there been an NDA government in Bihar today.
He once again criticized the grand alliance of JD(U)-RJD-Congress and added Bihar is paying the price for the sin committed by Nitish Kumar.
The BJP leader held the UPA government as well as the RJD chief Lalu Prasad responsible for the denial of special status to Bihar.
