Manjhi govt shifts IAS official to appease Food Minister Shyam Rajak

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar government on Saturday transferred Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, the Managing Director of State Food Corporation, along with two other IAS officers, after a reported tiff with Food and Consumer Protection Minister, Shyam Rajak.
Chaudhary, a 1995 batch IAS officer, has been made Secretary, Social Welfare Department, with additional charge of Administrator, Bihar State Road Transport Corporation.
Purnea DM, Arvind Kumar Singh, 2000 batch officer, has been made as new MD of Bihar State Food Corporation. Director, Animal Husbandry. Rajesh Kumar has been made new district magistrate of Purnea. Alok Ranjan Ghosh, Joint Secretary in Animal and Fishery Resources Department, has been given additional charge of Director, Animal Husbandry.
Media reports suggest that Rajak had on Friday threatened to resign if Chaudhary is not transferred. He withdrew his resignation later in the day.
But on Saturday Rajak denied the report of resignation and of any differences with Chaudhary.
This is not the first time that any minister in the Jitan Ram Manjhi cabinet has developed differences with the IAS officer.
In this latest case Shyam Rajak was reportedly mollified by Manjhi himself and former CM Nitish Kumar. It is to assuage the hurt feelings of the minister that the state government on Saturday shifted Chaudhary.
