Mulayam authorized to supervise process of merger of Janata Parivar

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): The Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United), Janata Dal (Secular) and Indian National Lok Dal on Thursday, resolved to put up a united front and eventually merge into a single party which is likely to be named as the Samajwadi Janata Dal.Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has been authorised to take the process of merger forward.


The decision was taken at a meeting held at the residence of Mulayam Singh Yadav in Delhi.Apart from him, those who attended the meeting included former prime minister H D Deve Gowda of JD(S), Nitish Kumar, Sharad Yadav and K C Tyagi of JD(U), Lalu Prasad of RJD and Abhay Chautala of INLD.Announcing the decision to the media the former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said that the meeting took place at the initiave of Mulayam Singh Yadav. “We all should have unity both inside and outside Parliament,” he said adding there is a broad agreement that there should be unity among the parties.


He said Mulayam Singh has been authorised to finalise the modalities to unite the parties. The parties would take a final call later. Nitish said the parties are coming closer not out of fear of any person (read Narendra Modi) but for the cause of nation.Lalu Prasad, on his part, told the media that on December 22.


“we all would hold a maha-dharna over the failure of Narendra Modi government to bring back black money and expose the false promises made to the youths and farmers by the fascist and communal BJP and its leaders, especially Narendra Modi.Meanwhile, the leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, pooh-poohed the reported move of the five parties of the Janata Parivar to merge. He said that it would have no impact whatsoever on the Narendrabhai Modi-led government in the Centre.
