BJP changes stand, now supports suspended PMC Commissioner

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party, which, when in power, consistently supported the Nitish Kumar government over its dealing with the Patna Municipal Corporation has now changed its stand. After all the BJP was very much in power when the former PMC Commissioner, Senthil Kumar, virtually in one go, gave his approval to hundreds of illegal structures

in Patna in 2009-10. The saffron party was very much in power when the Nitish Kumar government transferred the new Commissioner, Kuldeep Narayan and the Patna High Court had to intervene on the latter’s behalf. The state government later moved the Supreme Court too, which last year did not oblige
it.

But on Saturday the former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, directly accused the former chief minister Nitish Kumar of being the man behind the PMC Commissioner’s suspension and alleged that crores of rupees have changed hands on this issue.

He directly blamed Rajya Sabha MP of Janata Dal (United) R C P Sinha and party MLA, Anant Singh, as Kuldeep Narayan dared to take action against the builder mafia. Even demolition order was passed against Anant Singh’s complexes.

SuMo said an honest IAS officer had been punished in a humiliating manner under pressure from builders and land mafias linked with ruling JD(U).He urged the IAS Officers’ Association to fight the tyrannical and unconstitutional action of the state government.

A delegation of Association on Saturday met the chief secretary, Anjani Kumar Singh, in this regard.
