Why delay in temple purification report, asks SuMo

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday asked as to why two and a half months later Darbhanga divisional commissioner Vandana Kini and then zonal IG A K Ambedkarhad not submitted their report on the alleged purification of the Andhrathadhi Temple in Madhubani district after the visit of chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in August last. Manjhi was there to campaign in the by-election for the Janata Dal (United) candidate.

The inquiry was ordered into the incident by the chief minister on September 29 and the delay in the submission of report is raising serious questions, he asked. The BJP leader said the probe into the temple washing incident might also prove to be an eyewash. He further alleged that Manjhi, probably, wanted to create social tension in Madhubani district by making sensational claims about washing of the deity and the temple premises.

SuMo also said that the home secretary Amir Subhani and ADG (Headquarters) Gupteshwar Pandey took 56 days to submit the report on October 3 Gandhi Maidan stampede yet no responsibility has been fixed on any particular officer. The report was essentially a cover up.
