Patna,(BiharTimes): A petition has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by friends and IIT Kanpur batchmates of suspended Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation, Kuldip Narayan, urging him to intervene and protect an honest IAS officer who is being victimized for performing his duty as per law.

“Kuldip is one of those IAS officers every Indian should be proud of. He is one of the few really honest officers we have and has always stood against corrupt forces. He is one of the only two IAS officers in Bihar who declared their assets in 2011 and has been known for his efficient administration,” his batchmate at IIT Kanpur, Manish Anand, wrote in the petition.

“He is now being victimized for taking on the land mafia in Patna by demolishing illegal constructions despite serious pressure from the political class.“For doing this, the government tried to transfer Kuldip but this was overturned by the Patna high court,” the petition further said.The petition has the signature of 400 friends and batchmates of Kuldeep.

Meanwhile, Aam Admi Party workers led by party leader and former minister Parveen Amanullah too staged a sit-in (dharna) in the state capital on Sunday in protest against the suspension of Kuldeep Narayan.
