Nitish is arrogant, egoistic: Shivanand

Patna,(BiharTimes): Accusing Nitish Kumar of being arrogant and egoistic discarded Janata Dal (United) leader Shivanand Tiwari on Sunday once again lashed out at the Bihar chief minister.

In a rejoinder to the state party unit chief Bashisth Narayan Singh the outgoing Rajya Sabha MP said that Nitish believes only in the mantra of “I” and there is no place in JD(U) for anyone who does not approve to his views. It was his big ego that came in the way of his nomination for a second term.

Tiwary felt sorry that N K Singh and Sabir Ali had to face the same fate simply because Nitish wants to drop him. He criticised Bashisth Narayan Singh for claiming that the decision to send three new faces to Rajya Sabha in place of the sitting MPs was taken at his (Singh’s) behest to which Nitisth had agreed and said he was trying to defend his leader, whose dictatorial style of functioning was known to everyone.

Shivanand reminded the state party chief as to how and under what circumstances senior party leader late Digvijay Singh was humiliated and denied ticket from Banka parliamentary seat in 2009 forcing him to fight and win as Independent.

The dropped MP said he had apprised the state party chief about his inability to contest the Lok Sabha polls. N K Singh too was not expected to contest the polls against the sitting MP from Banka Putul Singh, the widow of former Union minister Digvijay Singh. But still the party went ahead with its decision to field Singh and him for the general election.

In his rejoinder he reiterated that Sabir Ali was brought from Lok Janshakti Party on the promise of giving him a second term in Rajya Sabha. Yet he was denied second term.

Shivanand’s letter was second within a week. Bashisth Narayan Singh wrote to him in the response to the first letter. He and the other two MPs were asked to reply within two days whether they would contest the Lok Sabha election from Buxar, Banka and Seohar or not.
