Nitish Kumar’s Pak visit needs to be probed: BJP leader Giriraj Singh

Patna,(BiharTimes): Fifteen months after Nitish Kumar’s Pakistan visit former animal husbandry minister and BJP leader, Giriraj Singh, on Saturday demanded a thorough probe into his November 2012 trip to the western neighbour.

Commenting on the SSB letter which alleged that Bihar minority welfare minister, Shahid Ali Khan, had some sort of link with two alleged Indian Mujahideen operatives, Giriraj said the Bihar chief minister trip to Pakistan created suspicion. He said Nitish was not sent at the instance of Indian government. “Who and why was the chief minister invited,” Giriraj asked.

What is ironical is that neither Giriraj nor any of the 11 BJP ministers in the Nitish cabinet then ever raised the issue in the past. They remained ministers till June 16 when Nitish threw them out of the cabinet.

The BJP and JD(U) jointly run the state government for seven and a half years and the alliance between the two parties lasted for 17 years.
