Is Nitish’s fear of BJP’s revenge misplaced?

Patna,(BiharTimes): While addressing public meetings recently Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar repeatedly asked his voters to beware of the subtle strategy adopted by the former ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party, to weaken him.
For example while speaking at the Sankalp Rally in Saharsa a couple of days back he said that the saffron party is now trying to wean away the Janata Dal (United) voters by saying that since the Lok Sabha election is held to elect the government at the Centre, vote for the BJP and when it comes to the state election vote for Nitish Kumar, the chief minister said.
He warned his supporters to be cautious of this clever propaganda and urged them to vote for the Janata Dal (United) as strongly in the Lok Sabha election as in the Assembly election in 2015. Once they come to power they would not allow the Janata Dal (United) government to run in Bihar, he told the rally without taking anyone’s name.
Political observers are of the view that by stating so Nitish, rather inadvertenly, exposed his weakness. There is a lurking fear in his mind that Narendra Modi would come to power and would certainly take revenge.
“Nitish may be wooing his voters by saying so, but at the same time he is revealing that he is afraid of the BJP coming to power,” said an analyst.
What utmost he is fearing from the Congress is the withdrawal of support by four of its MLAs. He may somehow manage to survive. But the coming to power of the BJP may be much more dangerous for him. It is out of panic that he is saying so in his speeches, a comm entator told the BiharTimes.
