Another controversial politician looks towards BJP for Lok Sabha ticket

Patna,(BiharTimes): The controversial Janata Dal (United) leader, Ranvir Yadav, who snatched the gun of the security guard of his MLA wife to fire in the air to disperse the protesting para-teachers during chief minister’s Adhikar Yatra in Khagaria, is now accusing Nitish Kumar of breaking the promise.
Though Ranvir Yadav had openly brandished the gun on September 29, 2012 Nitish Kumar had applauded him for coming to the rescue.
Anyway that was about one and a half years ago. On Monday the strongman made it public that he would definitely contest Lok Sabha election from Khagaria. At present this seat is represented by Dinesh Chandra Yadav of Janata Dal (United).
He made it public before the media that Nitish Kumar had promised him and that now he has turned his back. He also said that talks are on with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He, however, said it would be too pre-mature to say anything just now.
Ranvir Yadav, convicted in Taufir-diara massacre case of 1985, said that he won the 1995 Assembly election as an Independent. Later in 1998 he joined the then Samata Party. Then his wife, Poonam Devi, got elected as Janata Dal (United) MLA.
Ranvir said that Nitish had promised to make his wife, Poonam Devi, a minister and give parliament ticket to one of his family members. But he has done nothing.
Ranvir said that neither Lalu Prasad nor Nitish Kumar, Sharad Yadav and BJP can ignore him. He said that he is in touch with the BJP. “Let us see if the matter clicks,” he added.
“Even if I fight alone I would get 1.5 lakh votes. I have no expectation from Lalu, Nitish and Ram Vilas Paswan. Yes talk is going on with the BJP. If it agrees I have full chance to win. All the others would forfeit their deposit,” he said.
If Ranvir gets ticket he would be another controversial leader to approach the BJP in the recent months. Only a few months back, Sadhu Yadav, the brother-in-law of Lalu Prasad, met BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, in Ahmedabad. The BJP leader in the state had to give a lot of explanation and Sushil Modi even warned the leadership on this count.
Meanwhile, the JD(U) spokesman, Neeraj Kumar, said that the party has till now not taken any decision on distribution of tickets. Everyone has right to make claim, so it would not be appropriate to make any comment on Ranvir Yadav’s statement.
