Third Front can play its role in fractured verdict: Ram Vilas

Patna,(BiharTimes): Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan is of the view that a third force could play a key role after the Lok Sabha election. He said the Third Front would not be a force to reckon with in the run-up to the general elections but it could unite many parties on a common platform to help them realise their common goal of keeping the BJP out of power at the Centre.
“If the Lok Sabha polls throw up a fractured verdict, as is being speculated at the moment by many political analysts, a Third Front consisting of various parties could form the government with one of its leaders becoming the PM,” he was quoted in Mail Today as saying.
Ram Vilas said all secular parties had a common goal, that is prevent communal forces from grabbing power at the Centre. All attempts would be made to form a government consisting of secular parties in the event of a hung Parliament.
The LJP leader did not rule out the possibility of even the Congress becoming a part of the entire exercise.
“In such a situation, even a Congress-led government could be formed with the support of all secular parties so that the Modi-led BJP is not able to assume power at the Centre,” he said.
He said the chances of success of this grand, secular alliance is better than ever before.
“If the Congress, RJD, LJP enter the fray as an alliance, it will sweep the polls in Bihar,” he claimed.
