Higher education director quits

Patna,(BiharTimes): The director of higher education, Sitaram Singh, resigned from his post on Monday. His three years term was to end in December 2014.

Incidentally, he is the second successive higher education director to resign from the post before the term ends.

His predecessor, Prof J P Singh, had also resigned before his term ended.

Reports said that Sitaram Singh attended his office on Monday and in the evening tendered his resignation to the principal secretary, education, Amarjeet Sinha.

“I am from university and thought would do well to serve there. My health was also not permitting me. In any case my term was only upto December as director,” he said.

Before joining the post he was the principal of B D College, Patna. He is likely to get back to his old post as the college still has no full fledged principal.

Singh was also facing an internal inquiry.
