Rivals ridicule Giriraj’s remarks on Shahnawaz as CM material

Patna,(BiharTimes): The comment made by the BJP leader, Giriraj Singh, that former Union minister and Bhagalpur MP, Syed Shahnawaz Husain, is a chief ministerial material has sparked off heated debate in the political circle with the Janata Dal (United) and Rashtriya Janata Dal ridiculing it.
Not only that Giriraj’s statement came as a surprise in the BJP circle too, as many political observers are interpreting it as the outcome of the infighting in the Bihar BJP. They are of the view that since Giriraj is opposed to the former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi he has deliberately made this statement to jeopardise his prospect. So it is just not an isolated one or two line statement, but a calculated move to sideline SuMo.
Commenting on Giriraj Singh the Janata Dal (United) spokesman, Neeraj Kumar, said that whether he (Giriraj) had asked Sushil Kumar Modi or even for that matter Narendra Modi. “It was not too long ago that Sushil Modi used to say that Nitish Kumar is a prime ministerial material. Now he is roaming about giving clarification,” he added.
Another party leader Ajay Alok, said that Giriraj had said so because everyone is aware that Shahnawaz is not going to win the parliamentary election from Bhagalpur. So why not play this card to befool the voters, especially the Muslims. But this time nobody is going to be influenced, he claimed.
RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav asked as to what is the contribution of Shahnawaz to Bihar. He was even the Union minister and he did nothing for the state. He is sitting in the lap of BJP and RSS. Are the people of Bihar such a fool that they would be carried away by such move of the saffron party, the RJD leader said.
