Now the NOC twist to Muzaffarpur ground battle

Patna,(BiharTimes): The issue of allotment of field to Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal on Friday acquired a new twist with the Muzaffarpur district administration seeking No Objection Certificate (NOC) from both the parties.

A couple of days back the district administration had allotted the Police Line ground (not MIT as was once wrongly reported) to the BJP. But on Friday the district administration demanded NOC from both the parties.

The allotment to the BJP was made after the chief minister Nitish Kumar said that those who would apply first would get the field.

True the RJD had applied later. But it had applied for both the Police Line and Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology ground not far away. So it could have got the MIT if the BJP was allotted the Police Line.

Both the BJP and RJD are upset over the deliberate delay on the part of the administration as this is hampering their preparation for the March 3 rallies.

Political rallies are not normally organized in the Police Line ground. But the BJP decided to hold Narendra Modi’s rally after the Janata Dal (United) had held its Sankalp rally there a few weeks back.

The BJP is now saying that since the Janata Dal (United) had not been asked to submit NOC why should it be asked to do so?

The RJD has already accused the Nitish Kumar government of playing politics. Its leader, Lalu Prasad Yadav, had repeatedly said that Nitish wants to appease his old friend Narendra Modi, so is not giving any of the two field to the RJD.

On the other hand the district administration is in a fix as the RJD, by organizing the rally on the same day, has posed a big challenge. With Narendra Modi’s Hunkar Rally in Patna marred by blasts the administration cannot take any chance.
