Wordy duel between Nitish, Nand Kishore as BJP MLAs protest reply by in-charge minister

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar Assembly on Monday witnessed a war of words between chief minister Nitish Kumar and leader of Opposition and his former colleague, Nand Kishore Yadav.

The tiff started when the minister in-charge, Vijay Chaudhary, started replying to certain queries instead of the chief minister, who held those portfolios.

When Chaudhary started replying to the question of Sachindra Prasad Singh, of the BJP, the opposition bench started protesting.

Since the issue was related to the fencing of graveyards and come under the Home department, the portfolio, which is held by Nitish Kumar, the leader of opposition asked him to reply.

Upon this the chief minister reminded that this practice has been going on since the BJP was in the government, but they never protested. He said since the government is a collective responsibility of the cabinet there is nothing wrong if any minister could be delegated to answer a question of another department.

Upon this Nand Kishore said “if you have pain in neck or sore throat you should say this to the House.”
Nitish then said his neck, throat and stomach are perfectly all right.

The BJP MLAs again protested when in-charge minister answered other questions. Some party legislators like Vinod Narayan Jha and Janak Singh refused to ask questions on Home departent as there was no assurance from the treaury bench as to who would reply them.

Later while speaking on the motion of thanks on Governor’s speech Nand Kishore Yadav told Nitish that anger is not good for his health. “I am aware of your health. Take care of it.”

Earlier in the day the interim Budget too was presented by Water Resources Department minister, Vijay Chaudhary, amdist strong protest from the BJP members. The finance portfolio is with Nitish Kumar. Till June 16 it was held by deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi.
