Alliance with LJP, RLSP expose BJP’s weakness in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party’s decision to have alliance with the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party and then again Lok Janshakti Party have exposed its weakness, rather than its strength.
Political observers are hugely surprised as to how can the party which claims that Narendra Modi wave is sweeping the state and that it would win majority of the seats go into alliance with the two parties which have in total just one MLA in the state Assembly of 243. The RLSP has no MLA while LJP just one.
How can 10 of the 40 seats be left for the parties, which had hardly any existence in the state.
Former health minister Ashwani Kumar Choubey is not the only leader to criticize Ram Vilas Paswan as corrupt, casteist and the one who promoted dynasty and family rule. There are a number of them, who have not yet come out in open.
While alliance with RLSP was accepted reluctantly because it demanded only three seats the one with the LJP brought rift open as leaving seven seats for the party which has no base whatsoever is simply suicidal.
Political observers are surprised as to why the BJP is giving so much importance to the LJP when even Congress, which needs friends more than anyone else, is not bothered about any alliance with it.
Even the RJD, according to its MP, Ram Kripal Yadav, agreed to give five seats to LJP.
A strong section in the BJP is directly holding the former deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, responsible for these two alliances. They also blamed him for the exit of Tarakant Jha from the party.
As both Ram Vilas Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha have a history of ditching parties they can never be trusted by anyone. Paswan’s one vote during the trust motion brought down the Vajpayee government in 1998. Besides, he was the one who quit the NDA in 2002 directly accusing Narendra Modi for the riots. Not only that till a few weeks back he was publicly condemning Narendra Modi and engaged in talks with the RJD and Congress. Than came the news of his likely alliance with the Janata Dal (United).
Many BJP leaders fear that after winning a few seats with the help of saffron party in the coming election the LJP, in particular, can any moment desert the BJP and join hands with Rahul Gandhi.
After all it is Lalu Prasad who denied re-nomination to his own partyman and instead got Ram Vilas elected for the Rajya Sabha in 2010. In the same election it was Nitish who gave ticket to newly inducted Upendra Kushwaha at the cost of losing Lallan Singh. Three months later he campaigned against the party candidates in the October 2010 Assembly election and then subsequently quit the party.
Similarly, Ram Vilas ditched RJD to join hands with the BJP. “If they can ditch Nitish and Lalu, why can not they switch side again,” said a party leader.
BJP leaders are of the view that how can now they criticize Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar when it is going to give seven seats to the entirely family-based party. Four of these seven seats would likely go to three Paswan brothers and one to Ram Vilas’ son Chirag. The rest two may go to Surajbhan Singh and Rama Singh, both notorious for their muscle-power.
If this trend continues the BJP may certainly give ticket to Ranvir Yadav or his wife, Poonam Devi. In that way the dedeicated and honest leaders, who fought for the cause of party throughout their life would be left high and dry.
