After the news of LJP-JD(U) tie up comes the reports of LJP-BJP alliance

Patna,(BiharTimes): If media reports from different sources in New Delhi is to be believed Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has joined hands with BJP for the coming Lok Sabha election. Thus the LJP may once again become a constituent of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from which it snapped its ties way back in 2002 in protest against what was then argued the Gujarat riots.

One of its leaders Surajbhan Singh claimed that his party would form an alliance with the BJP. “Modi is not an issue now. The court has given a clean chit to him,” he was quoted in the media as sayinjg.

Reports say that BJP MP Shahnawaz Hussain is in talks with the LJP leader. Other report says that former deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, has brokered the deal.

Incidentally, Modi on Sunday strongly defended Ram Vilas Paswan in the recruitment scam and criticized the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He argued that amid alliance talks with the Congress not coming through, the latter started misusing the CBI against Ram Vilas Paswan.

Ram Vilas has come under the CBI scanner as he was the Union minister for steel and fertilizer between May 2004 and May 2009.

However, neither any NDA leader nor LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan has said anything to the media.

According to Times Now, a private TV channel, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan is likely to meet BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in this regard.

If this happens the so-called secular alliance would be reduced to just Congress-RJD alliance.

What is strange is that, a few weeks back stories were doing the rounds in the media that the LJP may join hands with the Janata Dal (United). Then too the media based its stories on Surajbhan Singh and other leader Rama Singh––both are dead against any alliance with the RJD.

So political observers are of the view that nothing concrete can be said till Ram Vilas Paswan himself makes his stand public.

Anyway Ram Vilas is reportedly upset after he came under the CBI scanner in the recruitment scam in Bokaro Steel Plant.

Meanwhile, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav refused to comment by saying that he would do so only after Ram Vilas Paswan would speak on the issue. However, he said one is free to take any step.

On the other hand JD(U) spokesman, K C Tyagi, said that the RJD-Congress alliance is over. “We alone would get the secular vote,” he added.
