Congmen worried over delay in final announcement of alliance with RJD

Patna,(BiharTimes): Congress workers are somewhat worried over the delay in the final announcement of RJD-Congress alliance in the state. Though some party leaders call the exit of LJP as good riddance because of the bad image of some of its leaders and unjustified demand there are others who are of the view that too much delay in the final announcement is hampering the probable candidates from starting their work in the respective constituencies.

Congress general secretary, Dr Shakeel Ahmed, is of the view that the ambiguity on alliance issue should end as early as possible in Bihar. He is not alone but there are many others who hold the similar view.

Dr Shakeel is naturally more concerned as it is not yet fully clear, who will get the Madhubani Lok Sabha seat, which he contested and lost in 2009, though he was the Union minister of state for home and had represented it between 2004 and 2009. The problem with Madhubani is that it was the leader of RJD in the Assembly, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, who ended runners up and lost by just 10,000-odd votes. So RJD has more strong claim on it then Dr Shakeel Ahmed.

As there is no possibility of alliance with the Janata Dal (United) now and LJP gone for good it would be better for both the Congress and RJD if the announcement is made at the earliest. After the split in the RJD Lalu Prasad too is putting more pressure on the Congress in this regard.

Political observers are of thew view that the tragedy with the Congress is that it is the leader like Dr Shakeel Ahmed, who is feeling helpless and airing his view in the public. The party high command is yet to take a final decision in this regard.
