AAP’s rented office in Patna in the eye of storm

Patna,(BiharTimes): After the joining of Kundan Singh, a notorious outlaw, another controversy grips the Aam Admi Party (AAP).

The inauguration of its office at Shri Krisnha Nagar in Patna on Sunday kicked up yet another row within the new outfit as many party supporters criticized the choice of the rented house belonging to a former minister.

The house in fact belongs to Ramdeo Yadav, who is charging just Re one per month for it.

Those opposing it are pleading that they do not want to associate this office in anyway with the RJD chief in whose cabinet Ramdeo was a minister in early 1990s even though the fact is that the latter was sacked by Lalu Prasad Yadav for repeatedly criticising him. Not only that Ramdeo is not associated with Rashtriya Janata Dal, yet the choice of office in his house is being criticized.

The AAP office, inaugurated by a rickshaw-puller, Sunny Paswan, is located on the ground floor of the three-storeyed house of Ramdeo, who too was present on the occasion.

Those opposed to the idea are of the view that the choice of office in the house of Ramdeo would tarnish the image of both AAP as well as Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Incidentally, one of the leading AAP Bihar founder members, Ratnesh Choudhary, stayed away from the function on Sunday because of that reason.

However, A N Singh, AAP officer-bearer in whose name the rent agreement has been signed said his party has just taken house on rent and Ramdeo would not be allowed to interfere in the office work.

Ramdeo is so impressed by AAP work that he is just charging Re one for it, Singh said.

It needs to be recalled that a few days back Kundan Singh joined the AAP. However, the party had to cancel his membership after strong protest from within and outside.
