RJD leader Pitambar Paswan passes away


Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Bihar minister and senior RJD leader, Pitambar Paswan, died at a private nursing home in Patna on Monday. He was 63. He leaves behind wife, two sons and two daughters.

He was ailing since long and had suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Chief minister Nitish Kumar condoled his death and said that the last rites would be performed with full state honour at his ancestral Natthudwar village in Samastipur district. He described Paswan as a social worker and a popular leader. His death is a great social and political loss, he added.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad and former chief minister Rabri Devi too condoled his demise and said that the death is an irreparable loss to the party. He was an efficient leader and able administrator, the statement said.

RJD leaders Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Ilyas Husain, Ramachandra Purvey, Raghunath Jha, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Ram Kripal Yadav, Jagdanand Singh, Prabhunath Singh, Akhtar-ul-Iman Shaheen and leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav also paid tributes to the departed soul.
