We are not interfering in West Bengal’s affairs: Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday denied that his government is interfering in the affairs of West Bengal by lending help to the family of the gangraped victims, who was set ablaze, in Kolkata by the accused.

Talking to the media on the sidelines of Janata Darbar he refuted the charge of interference levelled by West Bengal urban development minister Farhad Hakim and said that his government’s approach had not been seen in proper perspective.

Nitish said that he was responding to ‘sentiments’ of the people of Bihar when he decided to send IG (Special Branch) J S Gangwar to Kolkata and added that there is nothing wrong in Bihar chief secretary, DGP and home secretary talking to their counterparts in West Bengal.

After all when an incident involving a person from Assam took place in a train while passing from Bihar the Assam government took up the matter with the Bihar government. This is not first such incident. “We took similar initiative in Rajasthan sometimes back. It is a part of our policy to provide financial assistance to such victims from the chief minister’s relief fund.
