‘Love guru’ wants to join AAP, but facing resistance

Patna,(BiharTimes): ‘Love guru’ Prof Matuknath Choudhary, is trying his level best to join the Aam Admi Party. It is other thing that the party has not yet decided to open its door for him. In fact there are many who does not want him to be in the party, though fully knowing that whatever he did was his private matter.

Matuknath shot into limelight after he left his first wife to live with his student Julie in 2006.

Matuknath was first suspended on July 15, 2006, after his ‘love story’ with Julie was highlighted by the media. Various television channels showed how his wife publicly beat him and Julie.

Three years later on July 20, 2009, he was dismissed from service by the Patna University. Soon he appealed before the Chancellor and finding no action for months, moved the Patna high court on April 21, 2010, through a writ.

Later, on November 10, 2011, the Chancellor issued notification reinstating him in service in B N College.

He was recently directed by the court to give Rs 15,000 per month to his first wife as maintenance till the disposal of the case.

The Hindi professor said he had talked with AAP leader Prof Anand Kumar in Delhi and wanted to join there, but he was asked to join in Patna only.

He said he wants to join AAP because he too is a revolutionary and against corruption, communalism and casteism.

But in Bihar there are many, who do not want to bring the new party into controversy at the very start by inducting him.
