We also build bridges of trust: Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar said on Friday that his government had not only built road bridges, but also “bridges of trust”.

Speaking at a public meeting after laying foundation stone of the construction works of two high-level RCC bridges through remote control from Jagannath Mishra College, Chandwara locality of Muzaffarpur, he said more than 12,000 road bridges have been constructed in Bihar during the last eight years and many more are being constructed.

But it is bridges of trust to link people in society, which is no less important, he said while indirectly hitting out at the friend-turned-political rival the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He reiterated that his demand for grant of special status to Bihar and said development work in the state would take a quantum jump if Bihar is granted the status of special category state.

The first project whose foundation was laid was Rs 43.30 crore two-lane high-level RCC bridge along with approach road on Budhi Gandak river between Soda Godam Chowk and Ahiyapur. The second one is Rs 7.37 crore high-level RCC bridge along with approach road at Dhobghatwa in Bishunpur panchayat of Muzaffarpur district.

The chief minister announced that the construction of both the bridges would be completed within two years.
