Maneka to launch Save Bird campaign at Bodh Gaya on Jan 24 |
Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Union minister and BJP leader, Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, will launch “Save Bird” campaign at Bodh Gaya on January 24. She would be teaming up with Ogyen Trinley Dorje, one of the two claimants to the position of Karmapa, the second most important spiritual leader of Buddhists after Dalai Lama. Meanwhile, Maneka, who is a noted animal rights activist, had written a letter to the Bodh Gaya police station SHO demanding the arrest of bird smugglers who throng Bodh Gaya in large numbers. The BJP MP has reminded the SHO about the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and asked him to book bird trappers, smugglers and sellers under the provisions of the Act.
