BJP MLAs create ruckus in Bihar Assembly over irregularities in PDS

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs created ruckus in the Bihar Assembly on Monday over what they say gross irregularities in the implementation of the Food Security Act in the state forcing the Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary to adjourn the House for lunch.

The issue was raised in the Zero Hour by the leader of the opposition in the Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, who alleged that the poor were not getting fresh ration cards after thd old ration cards have been rejected.

In the past five months nobdy got any foodgrains as the state government had implemented the FSA in a hurry without any preparation, he said.

Describing this as a serious matter, Yadav asked the state government to immediately give a reply.
As soon as he completed his brief speech, some BJP members started shouting slogans “Ration do, Card do” (Give ration, give card) and entered the well of the House.

The Speaker tried to restore order, but the legislators continued to shout. He even tried to take up Call Attention Questions, but in the end he had to adjourn the House till 2:00 PM.

Food minister Shyam Rajak denied that the foodgrains have not been distributed and said that the BJP is making a political issue out of nothing.
