BJP MLAs protest murder of Siwan trader

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs created uproarious scene in the state Assembly on Wednesday over deteriorating law and order situation in the state, especially in Siwan.

Raising the issue the Leader of the opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, said that the jungle raj had returned to Bihar after the Janata Dal (United) joined hands with the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Nand Kishore alleged that Rajiv Roshan, 29, the son of Chanda Babu, a Siwan trader, was killed at the behest of the jailed RJD leader, Mohammad Shahabuddin, as he was the witness to the murder of two of his brothers, Satish (20) and Girish (23), in 2004.

The BJP leader said that the victim’s father had lodged an FIR against Shahabuddin and his son Osama Sahab.

Nand Kishore said that Roshan’s father had joined the BJP in the presence of Narendra Modi sometimes back.

Earlier, the Chief Whip of the BJP, Arun Kumar Sinha, requested the Speaker at the outset of Question Hour to adjourn the working of the House to discuss the law and order situation in the state.

But before the Speaker could answer, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Shravan Kumar, who is also the chief whip of the party, cited the rules for demanding adjournment and said everything should be brought up according to the rules framed for the working of the Assembly.

Upon this Nand Kishore Yadav denounced the state government saying a reign of terror was prevailing in Bihar. The way people were murdered and witnesses were killed reminded one of the 15 years rule of the RJD.

The Speaker, Uday Narayan Chaudhary, intervened at this point calling for the BJP legislators to come through the proper channel regarding their demand for adjournment.

As the Question Hour went on BJP MLAs Arun Kumar Sinha, Arun Shankar and Achyutanand moved separate adjournment motions. These were put up before the Speaker during the Zero Hour, but he rejected them.

The BJP legislators then entered the well of the House shouting slogans against the state government.

On the other hand the leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal in the Assembly, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, said that the BJP is suffering from Siwan phobia and Shahabuddin Phobia. One should play politics, but not with the family members of the politicians, he said while referring to dragging the name of Shahabuddin’s son in the murder of Roshan.

Incidentally, only on Tuesday, the Janata Dal (United), MLA, Kavita Singh, wife of another don, Ajay Singh, surprised everyone by coming to the defence of Shahabuddin’s son, who she said was being falsely implicated in this case.
