Officials held responsible for extorting money in name of ex-CM Nitish’s visit

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): An official who was the private secretary of the Kishanganj district magistrate and now went on to become the personal secretary of a minister in Bihar, along with an engineer, have been accused by a probe team of extorting money in the name of the visit of the then chief minister Nitish Kumar to the district.

A three-member inquiry team in this regard was constituted in this regard by the then district magistrate of Kishanganj, Aditya Kumar Das, following allegations.

The probe team consisting of Kishanganj DDC Sanjay Kumar, ADM Birendra Mishra and DRDA director Bharat Bhushan, in a joint report submitted to the present district magistrate, Animesh Kumar Parashar, has found former DM’s private secretary Braj Kishor Sadanand and MGNREGA executive engineer Rajiv Ranjan guilty of extorting lakhs of rupees from MGNREGA engineers and others in the name of Nitish’s visit during the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

Now Sadanand is the private secretary to the Bihar sugarcane minister.

The probe team has called for disciplinary action against Sadanand and Ranjan
