SuMo praises it as pro-Bihar budget

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi, is all praise for the first budget of the new NDA government.

Talking to the media he termed the budget as pro-Bihar as the state got an IIM as well as Rs 2,2,37 crore for the saving, conservation and development of Ganga river, which cuts across Bihar.

On the other hand Bodh Gaya has been included in the six cities that would be developed as national heritage city. He hailed the budget as it pays attention to all sections of the society.

Modi, who worked as the state’s finance minister for eight years, said that limit of Public Provident Fund has been raised to Rs.1.5 lakh from Rs. one lakh. This would encourage people to have more savings. He also said that the tax exemption limit on housing loan interest has been raised.

Modi said that the Kisan Vikas Patra has been revived, and that Kisan TV, exclusively for farmers and agriculture, has been initiated.

Reacting to the criticism of JD(U) that no special status or package had been given to Bihar Modi said that such things are not part of Union budget, adding that special status and special package would definitely be given to the state.
