JD(U) MLA warns of tie-up with RJD

Patna,(BiharTimes): Janata Dal (United) MLA from Islampur (in Nalanda district) Rajiv Ranjan has written a letter to former chief minister Nitish Kumar and state party chief, Bashistha Narayan Singh, asking the party not to go in alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal against which the party struggled for 15 long years.
He claimed that over 60 JD (U) legislators held the same view and there would be a strong reaction if the tie-up with RJD took place.

He, however, supported the tie up with Congress, which he said would be more beneficial for the party.

Rajiv Ranjan, once considered closed to Nitish Kumar, said JD (U) should have left one Rajya Sabha seat out of the three––for which by-election was held in the state on June 19 last––to Congress to pave the way for better understanding with the latter.

Commenting on his view, the state JD (U) spokesman Ajay Alok said the issue should have been raised at a proper party forum and not in the media as has been directed by the party recently.
