Rise in crime after JD(U) came closer to RJD: BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday once again claimed that the crime situation in Bihar has worsened after the ruling Janata Dal (United) came closer to the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Earlier the saffron party used to say that the law and order situation deteriorated after the split in the NDA on June 16 last year.

The Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, said that the rise in the crime rate has raised the fear of the return of 15 years of Jungle Raj.

He demanded a special debate over the topic. But, when Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary refused to admit it saying a discussion on home department was scheduled on Monday next, BJP MLAs trooped into the well of the House raising anti-government slogans.

The Opposition Leader, while presenting his adjournment motion during Zero Hour, alleged that crime graph has spiralled in the state, particularly after instances of JD(U) and RJD coming close.

Upon this RJD members also trooped in to press for their demand to declare the entire state as drought area due to paucity of rains.

In the Council, BJP members led by leader of opposition, Sushil Kumar Modi, raised the issue of Rohtas police firing in which two persons were killed and demanded a judicial inquiry in it.

They came into well of the House insisting on a judicial inquiry as they were dissatisfied with the reply of state home minister Vijay Chaudhary that the Inspector General of Police (Patna zone) and the Patna Commissioner have been inquiring into the incident.
