Patna,(BiharTimes): A large part of Patna has been facing acute power crisis for the last couple of days.
Reports said that the situation may continue to remain so, especially its western half, is likely to face severe power shortage in days to come.

The crisis is being attributed to the major fault in the 132KV Khagaul-Digha cable, 1.5km south of Bailey Road. This snag adversely affected power transmission to the areas being fed power through the 132/133KV grid sub-station in Digha.

Though the rest of Patna has been facing power crisis as usual the western part plunged into darkness on Friday afternoon after the Digha grid substation went broke down following damages to the cable.

Posh residential areas like Patliputra Colony, Nehru Nagar, Digha, Kurji, Rajiv Nagar,North S K Puri, Boring Road, West Boring Canal Road, East Boring Canal Road, Buddha Colony, Anandpuri, Indrapuri, Shivpuri and Rajapur Pul were the worst hit.

According to CMD of Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited Pratyay Amrit damage control operations were already in full swing and alternative arrangements were also being made.

Reports said that this is the third time during last six months that the double-circuit cable of Digha grid got damaged. The first one took place in December 2013 and second one in March 2014. They both took place due to the ongoing construction work on Bailey Road.
