Lalu takes a sigh of relief after Ranchi HC quashes case against Jagannath Mishra

Patna,(BiharTimes): RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav takes a sigh of relief after the Jharkhand high court on Monday quashed four cases of fodder scam against former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra on grounds that he cannot be prosecuted for the same offence twice.

The court move rekindling hope for RJD chief Lalu Prasad who too was sentenced in a fooder scam case last September.

After the court order Lalu’s counsel, Prabhat Kumar, said he would file a petition in the Jharkhand high court seeking relief under same provision. He said he had moved the lower court demanding quashing of cases on similar grounds, but the plea was rejected by the CBI court that said the high court had rejected a similar petition filed by R K Rana, another accused in the fodder scam case.

Incidentally, the court order came at the time when JD(U) and RJD are coming together and fresh realignment is taking place in the state.
